This Sunday the Purdue University Old Masters program is hosting a panel of young Purdue alumni as part of the Rising Professionals program. The Rising Professionals program strives to connect current undergraduate students with distinguished recent graduates who have achieved early career success. This year’s panel of Rising Professionals will discuss how experiences and opportunities at Purdue led to their success. The event is open to all students campus-wide.

Meet the 2017 Rising Professionals
Karan Ahuja graduated from Purdue in 2011 with a B.S. in both Electrical Engineering and Management. Since graduating, Ahuja has worked as a Management Consultant at McKinsey and Co—where he earned the Rookie of the Year award—and was a Senior Project Manager at LinkedIn leading the team responsible for the Profile tab.
Eric Barnard, a 2009 graduate, earned his B.S. in Agricultural Finance with a minor in Management. Barnard has held several titles since his time at Purdue including Analyst, Implementations Manager, and Software Engineer with RICS Software; Senior Software Engineer with Codagami; and Program Director for Computer Science and Information Technology at Parkland College. Currently, he owns his own company, Barnard Tech Solutions.
Alexandra French earned a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy in 2012. Currently, French works for Barnes and Thornburg LLP as a Litigation Associate. She was heavily involved in extracurricular activities during her time at Purdue, including Purdue Student Government; the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Ambassador; and Order of the Iron Key, where she helped design and commission the John Purdue statue.
Derek Mauk received a MBA from Purdue in 2010. Mauk worked as Brand Manager and Senior Financial Analyst at Proctor & Gamble. He now works at Anheuser Busch as the Senior Innovation Brand Manager. He is also the also the President of the Purdue Alumni Association of Cincinnati.
Dr. Lauren Mioton-Connor graduated from Purdue in 2009 with a B.S. in Biology, later earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt University. She now works as a Plastic Surgery Resident at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. While at Purdue, Mioton-Connor played four years on the Purdue basketball team, during which she was the team captain.
